Membership Update
Only because I was asked twice about this in the last 24 hours, yes, we are accepting new members at this time. There was a period of time late last year where we had cut off membership mainly due to the uncertainty of how many of our Preview Members from two years ago were going to stay. While over 70% decided to stay with us, which is incredible, we still have room to accept a few more new members to the club this year. We are still offering a Preview Membership for all new members and that information can be found on our website. If you have someone that is interested in joining, you can direct them there or have them contact me directly. I love to chance to speak with them about joining our club.
Member Drawing – Tonight at 6:30pm – $500 & $50.
Last Thursday night, we had a winner. For the $500 pot, Ken & Beth Harris were drawn, but were not here. However, for the $100 pot, Bob & Linda Onyshko were here when their names were drawn. Congratulations to them!
For tonight, we’ll still be drawing two names from the bowl for a $500 pot & $50 pot. Remember, drawing time is at 6:30pm. Good luck!
Masters is already on in the Grille Room and the Patio Furniture made it’s way out today. Come on out and join in the fun.
New Member Scramble / New Member Mixer – Saturday, April 11th
Over the past several years, we’ve added many, many new members to the club. Coming up this Saturday, April 11th, the club will be hosting a New Member Scramble followed by a New Member Social in the Grille Room. We have held a similar event the past few years and both were very well attended, both on the golf course and in the clubhouse after golf.
We’ll start out with a 9-hole scramble that will begin with a 2pm Shotgun. We will do our best to pair two of our ‘older’ members along with two of our ‘newer’ members. The event will be a four-person scramble with no handicaps. All members, both men and women, are encouraged to sign up. Teams will be randomly put together by the Pro Shop staff. Sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside of the pro shop. $10 per person. Deadline to sign-up for golf is at 12pm on Friday.
After golf, around 4:30pm-5:30pm, we’ll not only welcome those who participated in the scramble, but the entire membership out to the club for light hors d’oeuvres and a ‘get-to-know-you’ hour. If you would like to have dinner afterwards, you are encouraged to make reservations with the Grille Room via email at reservations@grovecitycc.com. We’ll have the Masters on TV as well as the Pens v Caps game (Ovi’s last visit to PPG Paints?).
One important feature this evening will be a Wine Tasting from selections from our New Wine Menu that will be coming out within in the month. The House Committee has been working hard to completely overhaul the club’s wine selections. We will have six wines available for everyone to sample on Saturday Night…

Bourbon Tasting – Thursday, April 16th – 5:30pm-7:30pm
The GCCC Bourbon Society will be hosting a Bourbon Tasting next Thursday night at the club. There will be plenty of bourbons available to sample that include…

Comedy Night Returns – Saturday, April 18th, 8:00pm
Coming up in a little over two weeks is our 3rd Annual Steel City Comedy Night at the club on Saturday, April 18th at 8:00pm. The night will feature the following acts – Auggie Cook, Shannon Norman, Tim Ross, and Brittney Alexis
There is a sign-up sheet in the Grille Room currently. All RSVPs are only $10….$20 at the door. The show will take place in the Barmore Room beginning at 8:00pm. If you are interested in having dinner at the club prior, we ask that you make reservations prior to 7:00pm as we will not be serving food in the Barmore Room once the show begins so not to interrupt the performers.
Should be a great night…come on out and have a good laugh!
Master’s Pool Update
We ended up with 80 entries. All participants were emailed a spreadsheet with everyone’s picks around 11am today. Good luck to everyone.
DJ Trivia Update – Wednesday, April 15th / 6:30pm
We have two more sessions of DJ Trivia left this spring – next Wednesday, April 15th and May 6th. Trivia time starts at 6:30pm.
